TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama men's track and field team will be represented by freshman Trevor Denkers at the USA Junior National Track and Field Championship held in Columbus, OH. Denkers will start his competition on Friday, June 20 at 6:00 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
"Trevor has done a fine job this season and to be able to extend his season says something about his ability," head coach Harvey Glance said. "I am really proud of the progress he has made this year and he has gotten stronger as the season went on. He should be optimistic and enthusiastic about his chances in Ohio."
Denkers, a javelin thrower from Birmingham, Ala. led the Crimson Tide with a toss of 210-06. Denkers recorded the three top throws for Alabama this season. Denkers, a regional qualifier in his first season at the Capstone, ranks fifth all-time in the Alabama annals.
