
Men's Track Finishes Up Busy Weekend

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama men's track and field team concluded a busy weekend that featured two different meets. A Tide contingency traveled across the country to participate at the Stanford Invitational while another group stayed in the state to compete at the Tiger Classic in Auburn.
David Chaplin competed in both the 100 and 200m sprints. Chaplin opened his stay in the 100 with a time of 10.85 and then clocked a 21.80 in the 200.
In the 5000 meters Emmanuel Bor crossed the line in seventh with a time of 13:45.84. The time shattered the regional qualifying mark by nearly 30 seconds.
In the 10,000m both Tyson David and Augustus Maiyo hit NCAA provisional marks and nearly recorded automatic qualifying times with finishes of 28:47.54 and 28:48.92, respectively. Andrew Kirwa followed with a 29:19.58.
Antoine Fant ran a 14.68 in the 110 hurdles. Tim Grier completed another stellar race in the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.12 to finish second overall.
At the Tiger Classic Titus Koeh ran a 1:53.10 in the 800 while Paul Guevara finished with a time of 8:35.99 in the 3000m.
Trevor Denkers finished third in the javelin with a throw of 191-07. Peter Voorhes and Grant Stone followed with tosses of 179-10 and 178-11, respectively.
Alabama will continue its outdoor season in the Valley of the Sun at the 29th Sun Angel Classic on the campus of Arizona State University. The meet will begin on Friday, April 11.
