
Men's Track Concludes Stay at Prestigious Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Alabama men's track and field team finished its stay at the prestigious Drake Relays by competing side-by-side with the nation's best. Alabama wrapped up the meet with more impressive times as it takes one step closer to the SEC Championships.
In the relay portion of the meet the Crimson Tide placed sixth overall in the 4x100 relay and posted the fifth fastest time at the meet with a time of 40.72. In the 4x1600 relay the distance squad placed seventh overall with a time of 17:03.86.
Individually, Paul Guevara finished fifth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 31:16.90. Joe Purpura finished 11th overall with a 31:45.76. Tim Grier once again impressed in the 400 hurdles by finishing fourth overall with a time of 51.03.
Alabama will compete one last time before the SEC Championships by heading to Oxford, Miss. for the Ole Miss Invitational. The meet is slated to begin on Friday, May 2 at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex.
