Tiffany Welcher Named to All-SEC Freshman Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Tiffany Welcher, a member of the Alabama women's tennis team, picked up her first conference honor as one of six players named to the league's All-Freshman Tennis Team, the league office announced.
Welcher, a native of Clarksville, Ind., plays No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles for the Tide. She has appeared in all 11 conference matches, racking up four singles wins and defeating two nationally-ranked players. In doubles, she paired with freshman Meritt Emery and posted a 3-2 record at the No. 3 position.
Earlier this season, Welcher was named the Freshman on the Week for her play against Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Welcher and the Tide head on the road this week to Auburn in the SEC Tournament.
