TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Brooks Webster, a redshirt junior from Baltimore, Md., was named an alternate to the A2 National team, announced the United States Volleyball Association. Webster earned the honor after completing a tryout at the United States Olympic Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. in late February.
"Brooks told me she was very pleased with how she performed at the USA Tryout," said Alabama head coach Judy Green. "I am excited for her and I hope she gets the chance to show her game this May when the A2 team gets together to train and play. She is the youngest Alabama player to make it this far in the USA National Team pipeline. We are very proud of her."
Webster competed against 113 of the nation's best athletes at the USOC tryout and was selected as an alternate to the 20 member team based off of her performance. The A2 team be split into two 10 member squads to compete at the USA Open Championships in late May. If a member of the 20 squad team cannot compete, Webster will serve as a member of the squad.
