Trish Bartholomew Places Second to Earn All-American Accolades

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior Trish Bartholomew took home runner-up honors in the 400 meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Complex. With the second place finish, Bartholomew earns All-American accolades.
"Placing second is a huge deal at this meet," head coach Sandy Fowler said. "I truly believe Trish is setting herself up to win this competition in the outdoor season."
Bartholomew clocked a 52.37 to finish second behind Krista Simkins of Miami, who crossed the line first with a time of 52.16.
"This feels great," Bartholomew said. "I was a little nervous going into the meet but I am a lot more confident now. I am really looking forward to the outdoor season."
Sophomore Chealsea Taylor finished 12th overall in the high jump with a leap of 5-10.75. Ebba Jungmark of Washington State won the event with a mark of 6-02.25.
Arizona State claimed the team title on the women's side with a total score of 51 points. LSU finished second with 43 points while Michigan rounded out the top three with 39 points.
Alabama will open its outdoor season at the annual Alabama relays. The meet is scheduled to start on Thursday, March 27 and go through Sunday, March 30.
