
Men's Track Concludes Rod McCravy Memorial Meet

Lexington, Ky. ?? The Alabama men’s track and field team put together a solid showing Saturday at the Rod McCravy Memorial Track Meet at the E.J. Nutter Field House. The Crimson Tide took the top two spots in the long jump and placed in several other events to set up the next couple of weeks in the indoor season.
“All in all we had some good performances,” head coach Harvey Glance said. “This meet should prepare us for the next couple meets.”
Michael Nichols and Tim Grier secured the top two spots in the long jump. Nichols won his second meet in the last three outings with a leap of 24-04.50 while Grier placed second with a jump of 24-03.75.
In the mile, Andrew Kirwa put together a solid finish with a time of 4:10.26 to finish sixth overall. The Alabama men’s 4x400m relay team finished with a season best time of 3:10.65 to place fifth overall.
The Alabama men’s track and field team will continue its indoor slate at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame, Ind. on Feb. 8-9 at the Loftus Sport Center.
