TUSCALOOSA - University of Alabama assistant basketball coach Kobie Baker underwent an appendectomy late Friday afternoon at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Baker, 32, was involved in an automobile accident in a collision with a log truck in Tuscaloosa on February 11 and remained hospitalized at DCH Regional Medical Center until February 13. His injuries included a concussion and bruising, including internal bruising. Baker was told Friday that the appendicitis was likely a result of the internal injuries from the accident. He will not be at courtside when Alabama plays at Ole Miss on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Oxford, Miss. Baker missed the Ole Miss game in Tuscaloosa as well as it was on February 13 just hours after he was released from the hospital.
