TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? The Alabama Swimming and Diving teams close out the regular season on the road Saturday in a tri-meet with conference rivals South Carolina and Georgia in Columbia, S.C.
The meet, which gets underway at noon ET at the Carolina Natatorium, is the Crimson Tide’s last chance to get up and race before the start of the postseason.
“We’re looking forward to a good competition and the chance to see where we are right before we head into the championship season,” Alabama head coach Eric McIlquham said.
The men’s meet will feature a showdown between the Southeastern Conference’s best divers. Alabama’s Aaron Fleshner and Georgia’s Chris Colwill are the league’s top two in the standings and should vie not only for conference but NCAA titles as well.
On the women’s side of the meet, five Alabama swimmers have already punched their tickets for the NCAA Championships, including sophomore Agustina di Giovanni who set the school record in the 400 IM against Auburn earlier this year. The Tide’s 200 freestyle relay set a new school mark in December and ranks No. 1 in the SEC.
