Brooks Webster Earns First Team All-SEC Accolades

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Brooks Webster, a junior outside hitter, was selected to the Southeastern Conference's First Team as announced by the league office Monday. She becomes the seventh Crimson Tide player in history to be honored with such distinction.
"This is a great honor for Brooks," said head coach Judy Green. "She took some very good strides this season in becoming one of the best outside hitters in the SEC."
Webster, a native of Baltimore, anchored the Alabama offense with 424 kills which was more than any other player in the SEC. She stood atop the league's list of kill leaders for weeks, and she finished the season at No. 1 with 4.17 per set. Her closest competitor averaged 3.80 kills per frame.
Over the course of the year, Webster collected 11 double-doubles and finished with double-digit kills 22 times. She also upped her career high in kills and attempts, with 26 and 69 respectively, in a matchup against Georgia on Nov. 9. In addition, Webster earned a career high four assists in back-to-back games against Tennessee and Auburn.
Defensively, she was a force as well scooping up 287 digs and collecting 45 blocks. Webster picked up 23 digs, a career best, against then No. 10 Florida. At the net, she rejected 16 attacks on her own and teamed up for an additional 28 block assists.
Webster earned honors in every tournament the Tide played in this season. She was named to the Hampton Inn Bama Bash All-Tournament Team as well as the Hurricane Invitational All-Tournament Team. In Alabama's final tournament before conference play, Webster was crowned MVP of the Crimson Tide Invitational after posting 44 kills, 24 digs and seven blocks over the course of the three matches.
"I am very excited to see where Brooks is going to be a year from now," added Green. "We are so proud of her."
