BATON ROUGE, La. - Playing its first game as the nation's top-ranked team in almost three decades, No. 1 Alabama overcame an early deficit to beat No. 15 LSU 27-21 in overtime at Tiger Stadium on Saturday afternoon. John Parker Wilson's 1-yard quarterback sneak on the second play of overtime clinched the win and the 2008 SEC Western Division championship for the Crimson Tide.

3 The number of interceptions by senior safety Rashad Johnson, who earned National Defensive Player of the Week honors by the Walter Camp Foundation. All three interceptions led to touchdowns for the Tide. Johnson recorded his first interception of the game on LSU's third play from scrimmage at the LSU 15-yard line, setting up a Wilson's 1-yard sneak. Johnson added a 54-yard interception return in the second quarter to tie the game at 14-14. It was his second TD in as many weeks. His final interception came in the end zone on LSU's third play of overtime and set up the Tide's overtime winning score.
6 The number of SEC Western Division championships won by Alabama since divisional play was introduced in 1992. The Crimson Tide represented the Western Division in the SEC Championship Game in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1999 prior to this season.
20 The number of points the Tide scored off four LSU turnovers on Saturday. Senior safety Rashad Johnson recorded a school-record tying three interceptions, which led to 20 points in the 27-21 overtime win.
97.6 Freshman Julio Jones receiving average over his last three games, including 100-yard games against Tennessee (103) and LSU (128). Jones has 18 catches for 293 yards against Tennessee, Arkansas State and LSU.
