TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama head softball coach Patrick Murphy announced the signing of Courtney Conley to a National Letter of Intent. Conley will come to Tuscaloosa from St. Louis, Mo., where she plays for Eureka High School.
"Courtney is going to be a great addition to our program," Murphy said. "Her desire to improve on a daily basis is rarely seen in young people today and hopefully will rub off on her teammates in the years to come. She led her St. Louis Chaos team to a national runner-up finish at 16 ASA nationals this summer. We are lucky to have her wearing Crimson."
Conley will join her club teammate Jackey Branham at the Capstone in 2010. Conley plays for coach Brad Wallach at EHS and has garnered numerous accolades. The corner infielder was named to the all conference, all-district, all-region, all-metro and all-state teams. Conley was also named the Gatorade Player of the Year and the Post Dispatch Player of the Year in 2007.
For head coach Bob Furrer on her club team St. Louis Chaos, Conley joined forces with Branham to lead the Chaos to an ASA runner-up finish in 2008. Conley helped lead the Chaos to a USFA Championship in 2005, an AFA runner-up finish in 2004 and an AFA title in 2002. Conley also garnered Under Armour All-American accolades.
Conley is the daughter of James and Lisa Conley. She has one sister Jessica and a brother named Brandon. The 5-9 infielder belongs to the National Honor Society.
