
Volleyball Signs Christina Hobbs to 2008 Class

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? University of Alabama head volleyball coach Judy Green announced the signing of her fourth and final addition to the class of 2008. Texas native Christina Hobbs signed a letter of intent and will join the Crimson Tide in the fall of 2008 after finishing her high school and club careers.
“Christina is a top level athlete with a big jump,” said Alabama head coach Judy Green. “She was a sleeper in the 2008 class and I feel fortunate we landed her early. She is going to turn heads in the SEC as she matures as a college player.”
Hobbs heads to the Capstone after completing her career at Atascouta High School in Houston, Texas. Competing for head coach Jessica Callahan, Hobbs led her team to two consecutive bi-district championships as a middle blocker and was selected to the All-district first team in 2007.
Also active in the club scene, Hobbs plays for the Texas Tornados volleyball organization under coach Chuck Schnnieder. Hobbs led her team to a third place finish at the Junior Olympic National Championships in 2007.
Hobbs comes from an athletic background as her uncle, Gregory Hobbs, played football in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys.
Hobbs plans to major in Education at the Capstone.
