TUSCALOOSA ?? Ronald Steele, an All-Southeastern Conference senior point guard on the University of Alabama basketball team, will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Thursday, August 23, 2007, at St. Vincent's Birmingham. Doctor Lyle Cain and Doctor James Andrews will perform the surgery as a follow-up procedure to the surgery that was performed on April 3. He is expected to return to full activities and be available for the upcoming collegiate basketball season.
“Number one, my first concern is Ron Steele and my hope is that he will be 100 percent at some point in the near future,” said Alabama head basketball coach Mark Gottfried. “It’s disappointing yet at the same time encouraging that hopefully this will give him a conclusion to this process.”
