TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Alabama volleyball team completed its first full week of practice yesterday in the friendly confines of the CAVE. The team concluded the week with its 13th practice of the year.
"I thought our team did a nice job of pushing through one of our last two-a-day practices even though they were physically tired," said Alabama head coach Judy Green. "The one aspect we need to be more attentive to is our mindfulness of the game when we are working through fatigue. Our metal awareness of situations still has room to improve and when we scrimmage on Saturday I want to see us respond better to those situations."
Green topped off the day with an appearance on "Hey, Coach" last night to talk about the upcoming season and the Crimson/White scrimmage on Saturday.
"I am very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the "Hey, Coach" show every Thursday night with Tom Roberts," said Green. "It has been a wonderful way to get the word out about Alabama volleyball and now we have a following of fans who come every night just to hear about what is happening with the Crimson Tide."
"Throughout the season fans will get a chance to not only hear from me but from our players as well. It is my second favorite thing to do on Thursdays besides practice!"
The Crimson Tide holds its annual Crimson/White scrimmage Saturday, August 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the CAVE. The scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.
Alabama opens its home schedule Friday, August 31 at 12:30 p.m. against UAB in the second match of the Academy Sports Bama Bash. Admission is $3 for adults 18 and up and all UA students are free.
