Ben Boldt is the newest addition to the Crimson Tide volleyball staff, replacing Chris Redding who took the head coaching position at UNC-Charlotte.
He came to Alabama after serving five years as a member of the University of Nebraska volleyball staff in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Working under Husker head coach Jon Cook,Boldt has been a part of one of the most successful programs in the NCAA in recent years. Boldt capped off his career in Lincoln by helping Nebraska earn its third NCAA Championship, as the Cornhuskers finished 33-1 with a championship game victory over Stanford in Omaha last December.
Boldt joined the Alabama staff prior to the 2007 spring season where he received valuable hands on experience with his new team. While at Nebraska, Bolt spent time coaching with USA volleyball at various levels. Boldt served as a USA Youth National team coach in 2005 and 2006 after spending time with the A2 squad in 2004.
In addition to college and national team experience,Boldt is also an accomplished coach at the club level. Boldt was a head coach for the Challenger Volleyball Club from 2000 to 2004 before serving as a head coach for the prestigious Nebraska Juniors in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2005 and 2006.
A native of Hickman,Nebraska, Boldt graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.
