Wallace Gilberry

2006 (Junior): Started all 13 games at defensive end. Gilberry was a leader on the Crimson Tide defense with 10.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and 10 quarterback hurries. He recorded 43 tackles with 22 solo stops to lead the defensive line. He had his best game in the final regular season game against Auburn with five tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks and one quarterback hurry. He had four tackles, one sack and one forced fumble against Mississippi State. In the PetroSun Indpendence Bowl, he tallied four tackles and a half a sack.
2005 (Sophomore): A 12-game starter at left defensive end,Wallace closed the season with 37 tackles, 10 stops behind the line for 37 yards, 1.5 sacks for 12 yards and six quarterback pressures. He had a fumble recovery against Tennessee which stifled a Vol drive deep in Alabama territory. He had a career-high seven tackles against LSU and six against Auburn. He had two and one-half tackles behind the line for 17 yards against LSU. After playing behind Todd Bates at left defensive end in 2004,Wallace moved into a starting spot in 2005. He had an excellent spring, earned the "Jerry Duncan I Like to Practice Award".
2004 (Freshman): As a freshman he was the team leader with 13 stops behind the line (50 yards) and 6.5 sacks (44 yards) as he finished with 28 tackles. He also had seven quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He had five tackles against Mississippi State and 2.5 sacks for 17 yards. He had three tackles for loss in back-to-back games against Mississippi State and LSU.Wallace played in every game and had 237 snaps on the season.
2003 Redshirted
Prep: Gilberry played his prep football at Baldwin County High School. In his junior season, Gilberry played primarily tight end where he started the last seven games.As a senior at defensive end, he made 61 solo tackles, 16 assists, seven sacks, seven tackles for losses, and deflected six passes.He also caused
two fumbles, recovering both. He stole the show in the Alabama/Mississippi All Star game (six tackles, two sacks).With just over a minute to play Gilberry proceeded to sack the Mississippi quarterback for a 14-yard loss in the redzone to help give his team the victory.
Personal: The son of Clayton and Sharon Gilberry-Williams. Wallace has two brothers, Allen and Alden and two sisters, Les'Lee and Lillian.
