The Crimson Tide volleyball team, coming off of its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance in the fall of 2006, is set to open its spring schedule with an all-day event at Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, March 24.
“This spring season schedule is the most competitive we have played,” said UA head coach Judy Green. “It will give us opportunities to get some younger players more playing experience, to experiment with some different line-ups, as well as improve our team-system play. Spring is a time to get players healthy, grow them as individual players and to see what areas need improvement before we reach fall pre-season camp in August.”
The Tide’s spring schedule includes four events that pit Alabama against teams from the Sun Belt and Atlantic Coast conferences, as well as against league rivals from the Southeastern Conference.
In the opening weekend, the Tide is set to face Tennessee-Chattanooga and Virginia Tech beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
“Our players and coaches have been working hard together all spring and we are certainly excited about the level of competition we will see in the four playing opportunities we will have,” said Green.
Alabama concludes its spring schedule on April 14 in Houston.
