Baseball defeats McNeese 6-4

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama defeated McNeese State 6-4 Friday evening at Sewell Thomas Stadium.

Alabama jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and was able to make it hold behind a strong pitching performance of Miers Quigley (2-0). He threw seven innings, allowing two hits and two runs and striking out nine.

Alabama was lead at the plate by Emeel Salem, Alex Avila, and Kent Matthes with three hits a piece.
