TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Members of the University of Alabama women's volleyball team participated in the Kiwanis Club pancake breakfast Saturday, Feb. 24.
Junior Megan Hudson, sophomore Lindsey Buteyn and freshmen Calli Johnson, Liz Salstrand and Jennifer Webber were among the many Tide athletes volunteering their time to give back to the community.
"We were honored to be asked by Donnie (Gil) and the Kiwanis Club to participate," said head coach Judy Green. "It is such a worth while event to help raise money for cerebral palsy. The players had the opportunity to meet a lot of good people in our community and do a lot of what I call ??giving it back' work. I think they certainly left there with a smile on their face and I'm hoping that people remember Alabama volleyball was a part of that."
The Kiwanis Pancake Day was held at Central High School and helped raise money to support several programs the Kiwanis Club assists including, building a park designed for individuals with cerebral palsy, the West Alabama Special Olympics, the 4-H Club, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America and Reading is Fundamental.
The Alabama volleyball team continues spring training in preparation of the 2007 spring season.
