Tuscaloosa, Ala. ?? The University of Alabama soccer team returned to the field Saturday afternoon at the Alabama Soccer Complex to open their fall season with the annual Bama Classic.
The Tide played host to Alabama A&M and Shelton State in the three team tournament.
“It is always good to get back onto the field,” Alabama soccer coach Don Staley said. “I am pleased with the defensive effort we showed today not allowing a goal in either game.”
The Tide played Alabama A&M to a scoreless tie and defeated Shelton State 2-0 behind goals by Susie Beard and Alex Butera.
Alabama A&M and Shelton State tied 2-2 in the day’s first game.
The Tide will return to action on on March 3rd as they visit UAB and Samford.
