
Freshman Emmanuel Bor Wins SEC Championship in Mile

“This was a typical SEC Championship, the talent level from top to bottom is unbelievable,” head coach Harvey Glance said. “I am really proud of this team everyone fought well. I could take this team and finish second or third in most conferences across the county. This was a young team that preformed very well at a big meet.”
Bor won the mile run in a photo finish at his first ever SEC Championships. He qualified in second place Saturday afternoon with a time of 4:05.74. In the finals today, he turned in a time of 4:01.74 just one-one-hundredth of a second faster that

Bor’s win today earns him his first SEC Championship and another place on the ALL-SEC team. He finished second in the 3,000m yesterday which also earned him ALL-SEC. The freshman was ALL-SEC and ALL- South Region in cross country this season as well. His time was also good enough for a NCAA provisional mark.
