TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Nicole Briceno was not an average high school tennis player. Beset by a knee injury that sidelined her throughout her entire junior year, she battled back to become a promising college prospect. Nicole knew she wanted to play tennis in college so she wrote to every Division I university in the nation and sent tapes to everyone who was interested. Jenny Mainz was impressed by Nicole's video so she invited the Florida native to Tuscaloosa to visit. Nicole immediately fell in love with Alabama tennis, from the team to the coaches. She liked Jenny's enthusiasm and energetic coaching style and instantly knew she wanted to be part of the Alabama tradition. Now Nicole has a spot in the singles and doubles lineup and has a place to call home.
