
Swimmers Win Pair of Races at Bulldog Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. ?? The Alabama Swimming and Diving Team finished up competition at the Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet on Sunday with some strong performances at the Gabrielson Natatorium.
Freshman Agustina de Giovanni won the 200 breaststroke with a 2:15.29. Senior Victoria Genova won the 200 butterfly with a 2:01.31 while rookie Elle St. Charles was third with a 2:07.61, freshman Kacey Weddle was fourth with a 2:09.41 and freshman Hannah Brinks was fifth with a 2:10.68.
Senior Karissa Tuthill was third off the platform after scoring 234.70 points and freshman Elizabeth Hughes was sixth, scoring 218.15 points.
The Tide had three athletes finish in the top-10 of the 100 freestyle. Freshman Brooke Baldi took seventh with a 53.92 after posting a 53.04. Junior Stephanie Johnson won the consolation final of the 100 free with a 52.78, finishing ninth overall, while freshman Katrice Ewanich was 10th with a 53.64.
On the men's side, freshman Sam Morgan was 10th in the 100 freestyle with a 47.72 while freshman Zac Conrad was third in the 200 butterfly after touching the wall at 1:57.20.
