The Crimson Tide women’s basketball team returns to Coleman Coliseum for the first time in 10 days on Sunday, Feb. 18, when Alabama welcomes Southeastern Conference rival Florida at 2 p.m. Cox Sports Television is broadcasting the contest, but the game can only be seen in CST’s viewing areas in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.
Alabama remained winless in the SEC and dropped its 11th-straight game overall last Sunday with a loss at Ole Miss. The Tide played hard, but couldn’t buy a basket in the first half, shooting just 27 percent from the floor. Despite 55 rebounds, including 22 on the offensive end, a season-high 40 turnovers doomed any chance of a Tide victory.
Florida enters the contest with an identical 0-11 mark in the SEC after a loss to Mississippi State last Sunday. On Monday, the Gators announced that fifth-year head coach Carolyn Peck will finish this season, but will not return for a sixth year on the sidelines in Gainesville.
Sunday’s game is Scout Day at the Coliseum. All Scouts will receive free admission to the contest.
Alabama hosts its final home game on Thursday, Feb. 22, when the Tide squares off with Mississippi State, a game that will be televised by Fox Sports Net at 6 p.m. The Tide’s regular-season finale is on Sunday, Feb. 25, at top-10 LSU in Baton Rouge, La.
