TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Alabama volleyball team earned its second player of the week nod this season as junior libero Amy Pauly was named the SEC's defensive player of the week, announced the league office today.
Pauly has led the team in digs in almost every match this season and has accumulated 437 digs in 22 matches. Pauly also leads the team in digs per game with 5.27.
Last weekend, Pauly recorded 43 digs in eight games and produced a match-high 23 digs against Tennessee.
With her 437 digs, Pauly is en route to become Alabama's all-time leader in digs in a single season.
"Amy has been more determined than ever to improve her play," said Alabama head coach Judy Green. "She had a solid weekend and she is focused on continued improvement."
The Crimson Tide is back in action Wednesday as they host the Mississippi State Bulldogs at the CAVE. Admission to the event is $3 and children and UA students are free.
