
Alabama Women?s Basketball Faces No. 4 Tennessee Sunday

TUSCALOOSA ?? The Crimson Tide women’s basketball team, in search of its first win in league play this season, is set to face its second top-10 opponent in as many outings on Sunday when UA welcomes No. 4 Tennessee to Coleman Coliseum. The game will be televised by CSS, with Chris Stewart and Joe Ciampi calling the action. Tip is set for 2:06 p.m. (CT).
Alabama (10-11, 0-6) had one of its two open dates in the Southeastern Conference loop on Thursday night following a 16-point loss at home to No. 8 LSU on Jan. 21. The game against UT marks the third matchup with a top-10 team this seaon. Alabama lost to the Lady Vols in the first meeting between the teams in Knoxville on Jan. 3, 72-36.
Tennessee (18-2, 5-0) lost just the second game of its season on Monday night to top-ranked Duke, but rebounded on Thursday night with a road win against instate rival Vanderbilt. The Lady Vols are at the top of the league standings with an unblemished conference record.
The Alabama-Tennessee women’s basketball game is a part of “Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend” at the Capstone. The Tide gymnastics team kicks off the weekend against Auburn. Alabama’s women’s basketball coach Stephany Smith and her staff will be sporting pink on the sidelines for the UT game.
