
Baseball Team Set to Hold Three Scrimmages This Week

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The No. 24 ranked University of Alabama baseball team is set to hold its next series of scrimmages this week at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The Crimson Tide will scrimmage Tuesday, Jan. 23, Wednesday, Jan. 24 and Thursday, Jan. 25, with pitchers working four innings each. Alabama will practice beginning at 2 p.m. (CST) each day and the scrimmages will begin approximately one hour after the start of each practice session.
Coach Jim Wells announced the remaining scrimmage schedule for preseason drills. In addition to this week, the Crimson Tide is also set to scrimmage on Sunday, Jan. 28, Monday, Jan. 29, Tuesday, Jan. 30, Friday, Feb. 2, Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007.
Alabama opens the 2007 season against Georgia State with a three-game series in Tuscaloosa. The season opener is Friday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
