
Alabama Men?s Tennis Finishes Play at SEC Indoors

NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Crimson Tide men's tennis team played in three consolation matches on Saturday to conclude their weekend at the SEC Indoors in New Orleans, La.
Sophomore Mathieu Thibaudeau was defeated by Ole Miss's Mattias Wellermann in a close match 6-4, 6-4.
"Matt played a solid match against a top player on a team that will compete for the national championship this year," said assistant coach Lee Nickell. "He is a couple of shots away from really making a jump towards a great season."
Freshman Houssam Yassime, who played in just his second indoor match today, was defeated by Jan Zelezny of LSU, 6-2, 6-2.
Junior Taylor Striplin had to retire in the second set due to an injury after trailing 6-4, 3-0 to Martel Campbell of LSU.
The Tide will begin the dual match season at home on Jan. 27 against Troy and Jacksonville State. The Troy match will begin at 10 a.m. with the Jacksonville State match following at 3 p.m.
