
Track and Field Opens the 2007 Season This Weekend

Tuscaloosa- The University of Alabama track and field teams will open the indoor season this weekend at the Kentucky Invitational on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
“We are extremely excited about opening the season” head men’s coach Harvey Glance said. “I think we have a lot of talent this season, it is just a matter of which meet we begin to shine in.”
The men’s track team will feature an abundance of new faces this season and will return a solid nucleus of veterans as well. “About half the team that will travel with us to Kentucky will be first time performers in the Alabama uniform”
The Alabama women will also compete in the Kentucky Invitational this weekend in Lexington. “I always use this meet to see where we are as a team and individually” head women’s coach Sandy Fowler said.
Other participating teams at the event include: Arkansas State, East Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan (women only), Middle Tennessee State, Marshall (women only), Ohio State, Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Wright State (women only).
