TUSCALOOSA ?? The University of Alabama has been ranked No. 11 among its Top 25 in Street & Smith's College Basketball 2006-07 Yearbook.
The publication has tapped Crimson Tide junior point guard Ron Steele as a first-team All-America. Steele finished the 2006 season as an AP All-America, Honorable Mention and a 1st Team All-Southeastern Conference selection, his second All-SEC nod as he was all-league as a freshman in 2005 as well. The Birmingham native was Alabama's co-scoring leader with now senior Jermareo Davidson, averaging 14.3 points on Alabama's NCAA tournament team.
Davidson, Alabama's All-SEC center, is featured on the publication's regional cover guarding LSU's big man, Glen Davis.
Street & Smith's College Basketball 2006-07 Yearbook will go on sale October 10. Fans can order it online on the publication's website, www.streetandsmiths.com. The cover with Davidson is the selection for Region 7.
