Played this summer for the Orlando Shockers in the Florida State Collegiate League
Griggs appeared in six games and made two starts and compiled a 1-2 record and 3.74 ERA
He worked 21 1/3 innings and allowed 17 hits, nine runs and nine earned runs, with 11 walks and 15 strikeouts

POLK COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2005-06):

Griggs was a two-year starter at Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Florida, where he played for coach Johnny Wiggs
As a freshman, Griggs was 7-2 with 2.92 ERA
In 89 1/3 innings, he allowed 84 hits, 38 runs and 29 earned runs, with 21 walks and 78 strikeouts
Griggs was a Second-Team All-Region VIII selection following his rookie year
He was also elected to play in the 2005 Florida Junior College All-Star Game in Lakeland
Griggs was a Second-Team All-State selection and First-Team All-SunCoast selection
A two-time Academic All-SunCoast Conference honoree

PREP:

A three-year starter at Melbourne High School, where he played for his step-father, Jose Soto
While pitching for the Bulldogs, he was a two-time All-Cape Coast Conference selection and part of the academic honor roll

Parents are Timothy Griggs and Jose and Jean Soto
He has three siblings, Kelli Griggs, Sara Soto and Haley Soto
His stepfather, Jose, played baseball at UCF and in the minor leagues with the Baltimore Orioles
