TUSCALOOSA ?? Navonda Moore, a senior guard on the Alabama women’s basketball team, took time out of her schedule last month to continue the Tide’s ongoing community service efforts within the Tuscaloosa community.
Moore, who earned second team All-SEC honors last year after a standout junior season, gave more than four hours of her time to attend the fifth annual A Few United Men (A.F.U.M.) Fun Day. The event was held at Snow Hinton Park on August 13.
A.F.U.M. is a non-profit organization geared toward assisting underprivileged youth who reside in Tuscaloosa County.
The
Moore continued a long-standing relationship with the Crimson Tide women’s basketball program with her presence. The team donates tickets to the organization, allowing underprivileged youth to cheer on the Tide in person.
Alabama will officially open its season with the first day of practice on October 13, with the first regular-season game scheduled for November 10 in Tuscaloosa.
