TUSCALOOSA ?? The University of Alabama volleyball team will hold its annual preseason scrimmage on Sunday, August 20, which will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the CAVE, located in the rear of Coleman Coliseum.
“This scrimmage will give us a chance to look at some different lineups in a live match situation,” head coach Judy Green said. “All the players are ready to put on their jerseys and go after each other. The competitive spirit of this group of women has been quite impressive to this point.”
The Tide has been undergoing two-a-day workouts since early August. Alabama will continue its preseason schedule until the commencement of fall classes at UA on Wednesday, August 23.
“Our scrimmage will also help us prepare for our match day routine when we do play on Sunday afternoons in the SEC,” Green said. “To this point I believe we are progressing well in both our offensive system and our defensive system, but I know we still have work to get done before the first serve next Friday night against The University of Miami.”
Sunday’s scrimmage will be open to the public and admission to the event will be free.
Alabama opens its season on Friday, August 25, when it will host Miami in the Academy Sports Invitational in Tuscaloosa.
