
Alabama Volleyball Holds First Practice

TUSCALOOSA ?? The Crimson Tide volleyball team began the 2006 season Thursday, as the team held its first official practice of in the CAVE starting at approximately 11:30 this morning.
“I thought that our first practice was a good teaching practice,” head coach Judy Green said. “We introduced some new skill techniques to our team today. The energy level was high and enthusiasm was in abundance. I liked the atmosphere we created in practice. This is the first day of many that we want to see improvement in our team’s play.”
The Tide is coming off of a record-setting season that saw the team reach program milestones with the first SEC Championship finals appearance and the first NCAA Tournament berth in program history.
Alabama will play an intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday, August 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the CAVE. The Tide’s first match will be on Friday, August 25, in the first of two tournaments UA will host this season.
