2006 (Junior): Tallied 13 catches for 117 yards and one touchdown in 12 games. Caddell earned a start against Vanderbilt in the second week of the season. He had his best game of the year against Florida International with three catches for 29 yards and one touchdown. He caught three passes for 24 yards in the season opener against Hawaii on 48 snaps off the bench. He had two catches for 20 yards at fifth-ranked Florida and two grabs for 14 yards at LSU. He also recorded catches against Vanderbilt, Louisiana Monroe and Auburn. He played a total of 238 snaps on the year. He had 20 or more snaps in four games and 10 or more plays in 10 of the 12 games.
2005 (Sophomore): A starter in the Tide’s season opener, Matt saw action in every game. He started in the 2006 AT&T Cotton Bowl and responded with three receptions for 63 yards, including a career-long of 50 yards. He finished the season with 13 catches for 179 yards, a 13.8 per-catch average.
2004 (Freshman): A starter in eight games and the final six of the regular season, Matt closed the year with 17 catches for 331 yards and one touchdown. His 331 receiving yards ranked second on the team behind Tyrone Prothro’s 347 yards. He had three receptions for 21 yards against Minnesota in the Music City Bowl. Matt also had one kickoff return for 10 yards. His best game of the season came against Auburn when he caught four passes for 76 yards, including a 48-yarder. He also had a 48-yarder in the opening minutes of the LSU game that led to the Tide's first touchdown. Although he spent 2003 as a redshirt season, he came into the season as a young player who needed to contribute early to help bolster the Tide receiving corps. He earned the “Ray Perkins Most Improved Receiver Award” following spring practice.
2003: Redshirted
Prep: Matt helped McAdory to a 9-3 record as a senior. He was No. 8 on the The Tuscaloosa News' Sweet 16 list and was rated the No. 12 prep prospect in Alabama by BorderWars. In his career he tied the state and national records with 12 punt returns for touchdowns. As a senior, he did a little bit of everything. He caught 14 passes for an average of 27 yards a catch, rushed for 828 yards and eight touchdowns, and returned four punts for touchdowns. As a free safety he made three interceptions. Matt accounted for 15 total touchdowns his senior season. He played on every special team, returned punts and kickoffs and played offense and defense for McAdory. During his junior campaign, Matt caught 27 passes for 493 yards and six TDs. He also rushed for over 300 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he registered 40 tackles and one interception. He was a member of the National Honor Society.
