
Alabama-North Carolina to Meet in NCAA Super Regionals

TUSCALOOSA ?? The University of Alabama baseball team will more than likely host the 2006 NCAA Tuscaloosa Super Regionals next weekend against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The Crimson Tide (44-19) advanced to the Super Regionals for only the second time in school history and first since 1999 with its three-game sweep of Jacksonville State (14-1) and Troy (4-3 and 14-5) in the 2006 NCAA Tuscaloosa Regionals this weekend at the Joe.
North Carolina (48-13) won the Chapel Hill Regional with three straight wins over Maine (15-7) and Winthrop (14-4 and 14-2).
The official announcement will come from the NCAA Division Baseball Committee on Tuesday, June 5 in a 2 p.m. news release from the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.
The dates of the NCAA Super Regional and game times will also be announced on Tuesday.
Tickets for the 2006 NCAA Super Regional will go on sale Monday, June 5 in the UA Athletic Ticket Office beginning at 9 a.m. (CT). All chariback seats are already sold out for the anticipated Super Regional. Upper level grandstand and bleacher tickets for the Super Regional are $25 per book, which includes one ticket to three potential games.
