
Tide Men?s Track Signs GJ Hudgens for 2007

The Alabama men’s track and field team added their fourth athlete of the spring with the addition of GJ Hudgens of Nashville, Tenn. Hudgens joins pole vaulters Jake Winder and Michael Hughes as well as high jumper Tyler Boswell who have signed with the Tide this spring.
Hudgens will join the Tide for the 2007 season after completing a successful prep career at Christ Presbyterian. Hudgens was the 2004 Tennessee state champion in the 800-meter run and finished runner-up in the 400m at the 2003 state championships.
Hudgens also experienced success at the national level, finishing third in the 800m at the 2005 USA Track and Field Junior Olympics and taking seventh place in the 800m at the USATF Junior National Championships.
“GJ comes from a great family and will be a tremendous addition to us both athletically and as a person,” Alabama head coach Harvey Glance said. “We are excited to have another talented athlete come into our middle distance are and look forward to him joining us in August.”
Hudgens plans to major in film studies.
