Despite on-again, off-again rain showers, over 200 fans showed up to wish the fourth-ranked Alabama softball team well in the team’s final home practice of the season.
“The support we’ve received all season has been unbelievable,” said head coach Patrick Murphy. “We really appreciate the fans coming out tonight and cheering the team on, despite the weather.”
The Crimson Tide will board a plane tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. from Bama Air and will head to Oklahoma City where the team will compete in the program’s fourth College World Series in seven years and third in four years.
Alabama, the SEC regular season champion and overall fifth seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament, will face the Big 10 regular season champ and fourth seed Northwestern Wildcats in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:06 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPN2.
