Jacksonville State ?? The Gamecocks are 18-3 in their last 21 games and are currently riding a six game win streak. Jax St. finished the year 35-22 overall and 19-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference, behind Samford. They received an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after an impressive run through the Ohio Valley Conference tournament which saw the Gamecocks defeat No.1 seed Samford twice, including a thrilling 8-7 win in the Championship Game. Jacksonville State is 0-2 against teams in the Tuscaloosa Regional this year, falling to Troy on February 28 and March 7. The Gamecocks open the 2006 NCAA Tournament against the No. 4 national seed Alabama Crimson Tide Friday night June 2 at 6:30. Jax St. is 2-2 against the Tide since 2002.
