We woke up this morning for a 9:00 a.m. breakfast. I was excited to see the selection that was in store. Our tour guide Cory told us it would be interesting. There was a buffet of eggs, cereal, and HOT DOG WEINERS!!! We also had a selection of meats (ham, pepperoni, turkey) cheese, bread, and a mango flavored orange drink.
After breakfast we headed into Budapest for some site seeing. We saw the Buda Castle, the Matthias Church, and many other breathtaking sites. Personally, I couldn’t wait to see the castle. It was way more than I expected. I can’t find the words to describe it. There was a ton of things to keep our group busy and the time just flew by. I also had a chance to see Michael Jackson (thanks Brooks) before we left.
When we were done site-seeing, we headed to the hotel to change into our uniforms for our first European game. We played the Hungarian Junior National team. Our team went 1-4 for the day. We got off to a slow start but picked it up as the day went along. After the game we took a group picture and eventually ended up trading jerseys. The girls were very friendly and we all wanted to stay a little while longer but we had a schedule that we were trying to keep.
For dinner we went to a restaurant called The Cactus Juice Co. They brought our party three “HUGE” platters, which consisted of rice, three types of chicken, veggies, fried biscuits, and the best steak I have ever had in my life. We all ate ourselves sick and didn’t come close to finishing all of that food (I hate to see good food go to waste). We later headed back to the hotel to get some rest because we have to get up bright and early to prepare for our next game.
A big shout out to Snids and Buckle!! We miss you and wish you were here. The best is yet to come.
Roll Tide Forever!!
