NCAA Tennis Tournament Field to be Announced Wednesday on ESPNEWS

TUSCALOOSA ?? Bids to this year’s NCAA Tennis Tournament will be handed out this Wednesday and Alabama’s men’s and women’s teams are expected to be part of this year’s field. The selection show will air Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNEWS.
Jenny Mainz’ women’s team will be looking to receive its sixth consecutive berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Tide won the SEC Western Division this season and is led by three All-SEC honorees, Robin Stephenson, Ashley Bentley and Mari Muller.
The men’s team greatly increased its stock heading into the tournament in recent weeks. The Tide has won five of its last six matches, including two wins over Auburn. A berth into the tournament would be Alabama’s ninth appearance in the last 11th years and third under head coach Billy Pate, who led the Tide to the Sweet 16 in 2003.
