TUSCALOOSA ?? Mark Gottfried and the University of Alabama basketball staff is again hosting its popular basketball camps for both individual and team instruction. The camps are open to kids in the first grade through (upcoming) senior year in high school. Many of Alabama's current and former basketball players are among the counselors and instructors at the camps.
The summer schedule of camps kicks off with a family favorite, the Parent/Child Camp where parents can bond with their kids and learn basketball skills that they can work with their kids on year round. That camp is June 9-10. Parents and their kids spend the night together at this camp (but can also opt to attend camp and sleep at home). Individual Camp is June 11-14 for the first session or campers can choose the June 18-21 session. Day Camp is June 12-14. Shooting Camp, which takes place in a single day, has two sessions to chose from, June 14 or June 21.
Team Camp, which features eight games and plenty of "chalk talk" to help players and coaches improve, has two sessions available, June 16-18 and June 23-25.
Registration brochures are available online through the Crimson Tide's official website, www.rolltide.com or by calling (205) 348-4551.
