Beth Mallory Earns SEC Honors

Alabama senior All-American Beth Mallory was named Southeastern Conference track and field Athlete of the Week the league office announced Tuesday. The honor is the second of the year for Mallory.
The Ashland, Ohio native posted three NCAA regional qualifying throws this past weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. The defending NCAA discus champion set a new meet record in winning the event with her throw of 170'10".
Mallory also finished in second place in the hammer throw with a season best 202'10" and took fourth place in the shot put with a mark of 48'5.25".
Mallory will lead the 20th ranked Tide back into action this weekend at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
