Though most of the Alabama women's track and field team rested this weekend, the Crimson Tide took a foursome to Virginia Tech to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier.
Chealsea Taylor took third in the 200m dash with a time of 24.25. Taylor placed second in the high jump, clearing 5-8.75.
LaTasha Pharr ran the fourth fastest 60m hurdles, finishing in 8.46 seconds in the preliminaries, but skipped the finals of the event. Pharr also had a season best in the triple jump, leaping 42-7.
Beth Mallory took second in the weight throw with a heave of 63-9 and finished sixth in the shot put.
Tahesia Harrigan finished second in the long jump with her second best leap of the year, 20-2.25.
With just a week to go before the NCAA Championship, Alabama head coach Sandy Fowler is excited about the way things have shaped up for the Tide.
"We should have a pretty good meet," Fowler said. "We will find out for sure who all we have competing on Monday night, but we have several going for sure. We just need to keep doing what we have to get to this point and we will do fine."
The Tide travels to Fayetteville, Ark. next weekend to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships.
