Aymara Albury was the only competitor for the Tide on the afternoon and she finished 16th in the shot put competition.
The Tide was also scheduled to compete in the 4x400 meter relay but withdrew from the event due to the injuries of Beau Walker and Tahesia Harrigan.
“With the outdoor season coming up, I didn’t feel comfortable running Tahesia or Beau,” Alabama head coach Sandy Fowler said. “We don’t want to take a chance with them. They’re important to this team.”
The Tide will open the outdoor season next weekend by hosting the Alabama Relays at Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium.
“It’s going to be nice to start outdoors again,” Fowler said. “It’s helpful for the runners because they can compete on 400m flat tracks. Every indoor track is different and they’ll love being able to compete on the same kind and same size track every week. It’s going to be nice to have a home meet as well.”
