TUSCALOOSA ?? The Alabama women's basketball team will travel to North Little Rock, Ark., for the 2006 SEC Tournament. The Tide will face No. 23 Vanderbilt, the sixth seed at the event on Thursday, March 2, at approximately 8:50 p.m. central time. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net South with Dave Neal and Van Chancellor handling the broadcast duties.
The winner of the Alabama-Vanderbilt contest will face the third-seeded Georgia Lady Bulldogs on Friday, March, 3 at approximately 8:50 p.m. central time.
Alabama is 24-26 all-time in SEC Tournament history, having advanced as far as the finals four times. The Tide has never won an SEC women's basketball championship. Alabama has faced Vanderbilt three times at the SEC Tournament and owns a 1-2 record against the Commodores in those games.
