TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- University of Alabama head baseball coach Jim Wells announced Thursday afternoon a couple of time changes in the Crimson Tide's upcoming schedule.
Alabama (5-3) will host the Florida International Golden Panthers (5-5) in a three-game series this weekend at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The series finale set for Sunday, Feb. 26 has been moved to Noon (CT), so that fans can attend both the baseball game and the Alabama-Florida men's basketball game, which tips off at 3 p.m. (CT) in Coleman Coliseum.
"We moved the game up two hours, so that our fans will have the opportunity to see both the baseball game and basketball game on Sunday," Alabama head coach Jim Wells said.
With the time change, fans who have purchased tickets to the Alabama-Florida men's basketball can show their ticket at Sewell-Thomas Stadium and receive one dollar admission to Sunday's Alabama-FIU baseball game.
Alabama and FIU open their three-game series on Friday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. The two teams also play Saturday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. The first 500 fans attending Saturday's game will receive a free Crimson Tide baseball t-shirt.
One other schedule change, the Crimson Tide's home baseball game with Birmingham Southern, originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, has been moved to Tuesday, Feb. 28 to avoid conflict with the Alabama-Auburn men's basketball game, which is March 1 at 7 p.m. on Coleman Coliseum.
