The Alabama men's swimming and diving team's scoring at the 2006 Southeastern Conference Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. got a boost when the disqualification of its 200 medley relay was overturned.
The relay, consisting of freshman Chris Perry, juniors Vlad Polyakov and Apostolis Tsagkarakis and senior Darren Erasmus, was originally DQed for an alleged false start. Alabama head coach Eric McIlquham filed an appeal and the competition committee ruled in favor of the Tide.
"It was determined that the official was out of position to make the call," McIlquham said from the deck of the UT Student Aquatic Center. "That was a good swim for us and we're glad to have those points back."
Alabama jumped from seventh to fifth place after day one when the additional points were returned to its total.
Action in Knoxville resumes Thursday morning and continues through Saturday.
