
Tide to Host Vanderbilt on Thursday Night

TUSCALOOSA ?? The Crimson Tide women’s basketball team returns to Coleman Coliseum after a two-game road streak on Thursday night against No. 21/22 Vanderbilt. The game, Alabama’s third against a ranked opponent this season, will begin at 7 p.m. and will be televised live by WVUA and the Alabama Cable Network with Gary Harris calling the action.
Alabama (8-12, 2-5) is looking to snap a four-game losing streak in SEC play in the game. The Tide lost an 89-54 decision to No. 1/3 Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. Navonda Moore led Alabama with 26 points, a season high for the junior forward.
Vanderbilt (14-7, 3-4) hopes to climb back to .500 in the league in Thursday’s game against Alabama. The Commodores, winners of six of their last nine games, beat Ole Miss by 10 in Nashville on Sunday. Vanderbilt won the only game between the teams a season ago.
The Alabama-Vanderbilt game is Scholastic Achievement night at Coleman Coliseum. Any student in the city of Tuscaloosa can receive free admittance with a voucher from their school administration. The choir from Paul W. Bryant High School will sing the national anthem at the game.
The Crimson Tide will face yet another ranked team in its next outing, a trip to Athens to face No. 14/14 Georgia on Sunday, Feb. 5. Tip for that contest is slated for 1:30 central time and can be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
